“Shorts on the Green” returns to Surfers Paradise on Saturday July 2nd, 2011. “Shorts on the Green” encourages all filmmakers, professional and amateur alike, to send us your best shorts! Films must be under 10 minutes and you have until Friday, June 3rd, 2011 to get your film in. Screening of the festival will be on the Circle on Cavill Big Screen in the heart of Surfers Paradise!!
FESTIVAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Acceptable Length
“Shorts on the Green” will accept films that have a running time of ten minutes and under. This time includes both opening and closing credits. Films running longer then 10 minutes may be submitted but will only be accepted at the discretion of the festival directors:
Classification
“Shorts on the Green” plays to the general public, so all films must be suitable for public viewing. All films should be able to fit into the ‘M’ Category.
Deadline
Entries will be accepted until close of business on Friday, June 3rd, 2011. Films received after this date will only be accepted under certain circumstances and at the discretion of the festival directors. If your film is successful in gaining entry to the festival, you will be notified by Friday, June 10th 2010. A screening copy of the film must be received no later then Wednesday, June 17th 2010.
Entry Fee
“Shorts on the Green” wants every filmmaker out there the chance to compete. Therefore entry to the festival is free.
Prior Screenings
“Shorts on the Green” does not have to be your film’s premiere. Your film is allowed to have screened and won awards at other festivals. As long as the film was completed after June 31st 2009 and fits the festivals requirements then it is eligible to compete. Films previously entered in ‘Shorts on the Green’ are ineligible, but all previous entrants are welcome to enter.
Acceptable Formatsn
Films will be accepted on Mini DV, DVCAM or DVD. VHS will not be accepted. Please be advised if you send your film on DVD and it is successful in gaining entry to the festival, you will be required to send a screening version of the film on Mini DV or DVCAM. As the festival is taking place outdoors, the sound and picture quality must be of a high standard and films can be refused entry if this is not met. Films may also be submitted in a high-resolution .mov quicktime file or .avi video file. Any films submitted will not be returned.
Copyright
Filmmakers must own all copyright for or have written permission to use any works included in the film that may include music, performance, video or script. Please be aware that any copyright infringements are directed at the entrants and are of no responsibility to “Shorts on the Green” Film Festival, Surfers Paradise Alliance or Nomadix Films.
